Bench robotics
The plate still runs after you leave.
A robot that follows the protocol you already wrote. Load it. Go home. Read the log in the morning.
Fits a 90 cm bench

The problem
Your best people are still pipetting.
A night on the bench is not a method. It is a shortage of hands.
One assay day, drawn to scale
What that costs
A1Hands that should be thinking
The person who designed the assay is the one still filling it at eleven.
B4Runs that wait for a Saturday
If it needs two hours of pipetting, it waits for whoever can stay late.
H12One missed well, a lost plate
A tired skip in column 9 is a Monday conversation, not a log line.
How it runs
Load the plate. Leave. Read it.
Three moves. The robot does the rest from the file you already use.
96-well plate, wells filling as the step changes
Why this one
It fits the bench you already have.
No spare room. No new file format. No person whose job is the robot.

A1Ninety centimetres, not a room
It sits where a water bath sat. You do not give up a bay.
C3Your protocol file, unchanged
If the lab already writes the run as a plate map, that is the input.
F8Taught in an afternoon
The person who runs the assay now is the person who loads it.
On a real bench
The run finished before the meeting.
Three labs. One plate each. The names are invented, as the footer says.
We used to keep one person for the overnight plate. That person now designs the next one.

The log
Every well is in the log.
Closed deck while it runs. A line written for each well as it fills.
Closed deck
The plate is not open to the room while it runs.
IEC 61010
Lab electrical safety, on the nameplate.
ISO 9001
The build and the service book, audited.

Questions
Before you book a bench visit.
A1Does it take a protocol we already write?
Yes. A plate map and a volume list is enough. We do not ask you to learn a new language for a first run.
B3What if a well is wrong?
The log stops on that well and holds the deck closed. You see the well, the step, and the time. The rest of the plate is left as it was.
C6How long is a first install?
An afternoon on your bench. We run one of your plates that night, not a demo plate we brought.
E2Who services it?
The same person who installed it. Parts sit in Sydney. A stop is a visit, not a ticket queue in another country.
H12What does a bench visit cost?
Nothing to come. If the night run does not match the hand plate you already trust, we take the robot back and you do not start a contract.
A1, tonight
Run tonight's plate without staying for it.
One bench visit. One of your plates. A log in the morning.
