What we fixed

Say Goodbye to Outdated Skill Platforms

Four things make skill trading painful. Skillswap removes all four.

80arrive elsewhere

100arrive here

A hundred tokens sent. Freelance marketplaces take ten to twenty percent; a swap takes none.

Courses cost too much

A weekend workshop costs three figures before you know whether the teacher is any good. Here an hour costs an hour.

Platforms take a cut

Freelance marketplaces skim ten to twenty percent off every job. The token that leaves one balance arrives whole in the other.

Niche skills go unpaid

There is no market for two hours of Latvian, or for knife sharpening. There is a swap for both.

Nobody holds the deal

Scope and price are written down before a session starts. Tokens stay in escrow until both people mark it finished.

How Skillswap Works

Master Skills and Earn Tokens in 3 Simple Steps

Post what you can teach, agree the swap in writing, and get paid the day it ends.

  1. Step 1

    List what you can teach

One line about the skill, how long a session runs, and what it costs in tokens. Most listings take about four minutes to write.

  2. Step 2

    Agree the swap

Someone books you, or you book them. Both sides confirm the scope and the amount before a single token is held.

  3. Step 3

    Teach, then get paid

Run the session however you like. Mark it done, the other person confirms, and the escrow releases into your balance.

"I taught six hours of colour grading and spent the tokens on Portuguese. My tutor is in Lisbon and we have not missed a Tuesday since March."
Nadia FerrerColourist at Fernwake
"I sharpen knives and I bind books. It turns out both are worth something here. Twelve swaps in, and I have picked up enough bookkeeping to stop dreading January."
Tomas ReijndersBookbinder, runs a small bindery
Ama BoatengFront-end developer at Orbitt
"The first session I taught was 40 minutes of knife work and the other person was more nervous than I was. It got easy fast."
Rafa DuarteChef at Peartree
"The escrow is what sold me. I have been burned on other platforms. Here the tokens do not move until we both say the swap is finished."
Kenji MoriEngineer at Fyn Labs
"Nobody here is trying to sell me a course. That is the whole difference, and it took me about a week to notice it."
Simone OkaforSound engineer at Orbitt
"Two evenings a month at the wheel pay for a year of Italian. I keep expecting an invoice and one never arrives."

Why Choose Skillswap?

Why people stay after their first swap

  1. Nothing in the middle

A swap is between two people. Skillswap holds the tokens, checks that both sides signed the same scope, and stays out of the lesson.

  2. Earn while you learn

Teaching pays the same tokens that learning costs. Members who teach one hour a fortnight break even in their first month.

  3. Members in 42 countries

Sessions run in 19 languages. If a skill exists somewhere, the odds are good that someone here already teaches it.

  4. Built for your schedule

Set your hours, your rate and how many swaps you take. Pause for a month and your balance is waiting when you come back.
